Right now I am on my B1 visa but had h1b earlier and I have come under h1b cap expempt category.
However, now a new employer has offered me a job and asked me to go through COS.
Is changing from b1 to h1b possible?

What are the chances to change from b1 to h1b? If COS is successful what should  be the changes done to get it stamped in my passport?

It is possible off course to convert COS to h1b or any other category. But you need to make sure that COS is not filed at least 60 days after you enter to US since that would be ending up you being held as visa fraud and have a pre convinient intent.

It is impossible to say what chances you have since it is totally USCIS decision.
