Should i enrol to FALL when I converted from F1 - H1b COS and approved from Aug 2012?

My Semester has ended in August and got my h1b approved immediately. Is it mandatory to enroll for fall term since I do not have OPT yet.
Is there a rule that if its less than 60 days from the semester end and H1b start date I dont have to enroll?
