When is the earliest i can be put on payroll once my h1b is active?

I came to US on h1b thorugh visa transfer with new company. Employer is asking me to start working after 10 days since I wont be on the pay roll till then.
Will this impact my status in any way

You can enter the US 10 days early .. thus, you can wait 10 days.
