Can I work when my petition for h1b extension is on RFE status?

My h1b extension is in progress and got an RFE when I got fired from my job.

I am trying to check with supportive evidence of Work and reply the RFE. Should that be in context to new assignment or work.

Will I be able to work on the client assignment or not?

Or can I transfer h1b to new employer?
