About changing status to h1b

Question

I have a valid L1b till 2015 for company1. H1b COS is filed with another company showing the status as under review with USCIS.

I am not so happy about joining new company, and already notified them.
How can I protect my status and prevent from changing to H1b? Do I need to do the leapfrog?

You should plan on leaving US and try re-entering using L1B.
