Can I apply for H1b extension for current employer and h1b transfer for future employer parallely?

My h1b is expiring in December 2013. My visa is extended by current employer and another employer offered me a job and is willing for a h1b transfer.
I am staying with my current employer till October beginning.
What are the best options for me?

Theorotically, yes. But it would definitely lead to major problems.
