Approved H1b, still on OPT, is travel possible?

My h1b for non-profit agency is approved on Aug 19th 2013.
By the way I am still on my OPT extension till Oct 31st 2013 with valid F1 visa.

During this period can I travel outside US on Sept 21st 2013 with my OPT extension EAD?
What documents should i carry and display when entering USA?

This could create problem since your applications are in progress. YOu can wait for sometime and once you get approval book your travel plan.
