Can I continue with my unused OPT?

My OPT is valid until March 2014 which starts from Oct 1,2013. I joined a consultancy, but they couldn't get me a job. So I am checking what my options are.
Can I continue my unused OPT?

If you cant start job with your OPT, then you go back to your F1 status.
