How are H1b extension and I-140 related?

Question

I have a valid H1b, and planning to add my wife to I-140 petition and she is on independent H1.
Will she be able to add me in her I-140 if her employer plans to file a separate application for her, currently the wait is more than 6 years. Will she be able to extend using my I-140?

Your wife can be on your I140 but you cant get an H1b extension using your I-140.
