Working from India for a US company since H1b is expired

I work on H1b for a company in US which is expiring in a couple of weeks. My company filed GC for me quite late and labor was filed in March which didn't get approved.

I have to leave US by august and will be coming back after a couple of months when my i-140 is approved.

Will i be able to work in India and get paid in US dollars in US bank?

The moment you leave, you are no longer on a H1 visa. Would recommend having the employer talk with their accountant to see how to pay you. Many companies do this very routinely.
