I work on L1b and my h1b got approved for 1 year. What should be the next steps?

I have l1b visa since 2010 and company has filed extension and got approval in May. 

Now i got another opportunity to apply for h1b by a different employer. It is approved and I got 1 year visa.

Now, if i plan to go to H1b from October, what are my chances after 1 year?

 

Can i request for an extension?

or 

Is there a way to get GC ?

 Maximum stay for H-1B is 6 years, which includes the time you spent on L-1B. 
I agree with my colleague with respect to the 7th year extension of H-1B and beyond.
