Will i be able to join business if I have h1b visa?

I am on H1b visa right now. I have an offer for joining business.

They will be issuing 1099 to me for tax purposes. Can I accept the offer? Will not this jeopardize my visa?

You cannot work on a H1 unless the employer sponsors you for a H1 as an employee (W2).
