Traveling out of US when h1b is in progress

Question

I applied new h1b and traveled out of US during h1b processing. I am still waiting for petiion when I am back.
1, Will my h1b status be still valid
2. My current L1b visa expires in September, so I am trying to apply for new visitor visa remains in valid status.
WIll I be able to file another change of status of h1b after visa approval
3. In that case, will h1b visa status change, if my visitor visa is approved until Oct?

1. Your change of status may be considered abandoned. If you receive your H-1b approval but the change of status is denied, you may file for a change within the US as long as you are in lawful status.
