An employer wants to hire me for H1b as a software engineer. I have worked for 3 yrs in Texas and wants to hire me for H1b as a software engineer.

New employer is asking how long will the H1B process take if they decide to start applying let's say in october for my H1B visa

Depends on how long it has been since you last had H-1B and how your employer files the H-1B petition.
