OPT extension when H1b pending

My h1b was applied by my employer. Now that I have decided to change my job, my current OPT is expiring in August and I am trying to check if I can get an extension and have my company wihdraw h1b petition.
Would that be a problem?

YOu can apply for OPT extension if you have that option based on your case.
Not sure why you need this. H1b status is more valuable for you now.
