Traveling during h1b processing in progress

Question

I work for company1 and got offer from company2 for which they have started processing my h1b. I have a couple of days of vacation and travel plan, while my h1b is still in progress.
I am not resigning company1 until I am back and my visa transfer is approved.

1. Is there a way I can travel with company1 with valid visa up to Dec 2014?

2. Also i havent got stamping for company1, so is it safe to do that now?
