Is it possible to delay h1b start date?

I am a full time student with CPT. I got my h1b approved in October 2013. can I leave country on f1 and reneter on f1 , later request to start my h1b after I graduate?

If you have filed change of status application, then you will loose your f1 status on October 1st. Check with the employer's attorney who filed this for you.
