Is it possible to file h1b and GC together?

I finished my Masters and currently on OPT extension in a STEM field now. My company is ready to file h1b for me and also GC (PERM) together.

Is it possible to do this?

Yes, but the earliest that an H-1B can be filed is April 1, 2014.
