Is it possible to apply L2 EAD without H1b COS approved yet?

I am working in a company on L2 EAD in USA. I had applied for h1b through a different employer and looks like I got approval with COS still pending.

However, my current employer is ready to sponsor my h1b visa. Can you please let me know if there is any issue with this kind?

You need to change from L1b to H1b if your petition is already approved.
