RFE during h1b extension and stay

Question

My H1b visa is extended till 31st Dec 2013 and even I-94 and contract is till the same date.
When I discussed this with visa cell, they told me i should better have contract for longer duration and final decision is with USCIS till when they have to extend.
Or else, we will have to file the extension with the current contract but have to provide a new one if we have RFE.
I do not have any other contract atm.
So how long am I eligible to stay in US?

You should discuss this with your employers.Moreover, your client usually gives you 1 year contract and I don't think you should worry about this at the moment.
