My wife recently went through the H4 visa interview and she was approved. During the visa interview process, she had to submit my original I 797 form and her passport. This was at Delhi Consulate
Is it normal for the visa consulate office to take the original i797 form during the h4 interview? Is this something new?
I'm hoping that they send the original back with her passport because I would need that during my re entry into United States along with my h1 b stamp.
