Can I work on H1b before H4 extension comes in?

I am on H4 visa which is valid till 10th Aug, and I also applied for an extension till 30th september. My H1b is approved from Oct 1st 2013.
Just want to check if I am eligible to work on H1B before my h4 extension comes in?

Yes, you are still in status till Oct 1st with your h4 visa. So when your H1b timeline starts you can start working
