Can I be director of non-profit company with H1b from another company?

I have valid H1b from a company. I want to start a non-profit company (I am an Indian) with 2 other US Citizens.
Can I work as a director, though I do not recieve pay from this non-profit company?

Even if you have H1b, you cannot work (regardless of it is profit/non-profit) for any other employee other than who sponsored your h1b.
