I am working for company A from Dec 15th 2009 in L1 B visa here, I am here on L1B I94 now and it's valid till Oct 16th 2014.
Now company A applied H1 B visa for me and looks like it got selected in lottery too.
I have few questions below to plan if H1 B is approved:
1) If you look at the dates of my L1 B tenure on 01st Oct 2014, i would have been here almost 4 years 10 months.
How long does this new H1 B valid now ?
2) Is this H1 B valid only for remaining 1 year 2 months (because totally 6 years limit has reached since my L1 B tenure is also considered) ?
3) Lets say if i stay here till Dec 2015 which will be continuous 6 years, do I need new H1 B, if i want to come back after a year time (may be in 2017) or the H1 B whichever i get this year can be used when i come in 2017 also?
4) On the other hand, If i go back to my home country by Sep 2014(without using H1 B) and come back after year to USA again, will i be able to use this H1 B for 6 more years (or) still that 1 year 2 months remaining period applies no matter one year gap given or not?
Any guidance of how H1 tenure works would be highly appreciated.Thanks in advance.
