If I apply for F2 and since it takes a couple of months to process it, while its being processed if an employer files for a H1B what happens to the F2 process? Ultimately I need sometime for my H1B process due to which I plan to apply for F2.
Can be done. Your employer"s H-1B petition will not affect your pending F-2 dependent of F-1 application.
