Will I be able to activate my h1b after a year so i can use my OPT now?

Question

I am on f1 visa and working here on OPT and am planning to apply for H1B next year(2014) April. But can i activate my H1B on October 2015 instead of 2014 october so that i can make use of my OPT completely? 

can I activate my H1B in 2015 will i be able to work in september?. During which i am not in any of visa status?.
