What are the best options for h1b visa after my last working day in May?

I have resigned from company1 and my h1b is valid till May 2014. My wife orks for another company on h1b again. I am trying to transfer looking out for  a new job.
What would be my options if I can't get another job soon?
convert to B2?
Convert to h4?

Change status to h4. later you can change back to h1 in case you find job
