Selling book on H1b

Will I be able to write a book on H1b and publish through some publisher, later recieve royalties for selling the book. Can I do that?

If you are on H1b and residing in USA, publishing this book and earning royalties is not legal.

It was a different case if you were in your country and would publish there and earn royalties.
