H1B Quota Cap Exempt

Question

I entered US in H4 Jan 2013 and I applied for H1B visa within US and H1b got approved on Sep 2013, I didn't work for employer who filed my H1b visa...So decided to exit US and enter in H4 visa, Can i use the Same H1B receipt now or i need to wait and file a new H1B , Since i didn't start employment on that H1B, Also the employer has revoked my petition.

You can apply for a cap-exempt h-1b as long as you have the approval notice or the receipt number of your previous h-1bmber.
