I need to understand the calculation of the 6 year duration cap on H1B, for Green Card application.
Following are my entry and exit Dates of US. I need to calculate how much time is left on my 6 years and when does the 6th year actually begin.
Entry into U.S. Exit out of U.S.
4/24/2007 6/4/2007
H1 8/10/2008 1/30/2009
H1 3/12/2010 11/26/2011
H1 1/29/2012 present
I stayed in India for > 1 year, between Jan 2009 to March 2010, will that reset my 6 year counter and the counter begins from March 2010, as shown in dates above?
Any guidance you can provide regarding this will be greatly appreciated.
