Validity of H1 Petition

Hi

I got my First H1B petition approved in Sep 2008 and got the visa stamped in the same year, But unfortunetly i didn't travelled on that visa , Now i had applied for H1B petition in the year 2013 with different  Organisation and got approved in June 2013 this time they filed as CAP EXEMPT and i will travelling soon to the new job there

No my Question is For how long i can get the extesion  as my Visa validity is there till 2016 , can i go for extesion on the same or not or do i need to apply fresh again in 2016 ?

You can get extension for 3 more years as you never lived in US earlier. You are allowed to stay 6 years on a H/L1 Visa in US and can get extesion for later when you have an approved 140 in hand. Congrats on your VISA approval and enjoy your stay :)
