Hello,

I was working for this company for 3.5 years. I filed my H1 this year and right after H1 got active (Oct 1st), I got laid off on Oct 3rd. Now I will get my last pay check on October 15th but that will be just 30% of the amount of what I used to get. Although, The company agreed to hold my H1 for 1 month, so I can get time to look for a new job.

Now my question is when I will transfer my H1 to new company, will I need any particular number of pay checks from previous employer or am I required to work for previous company for certain number of months before I can transfer the H1?

Second question is - when I will file the labor application, will I get the "application recieved confirmation" letter right away? As due to government shut down, I know labor process will be delayed. I will need this reciept to start working for new employer.

Hope I am not in serious trouble. Please help and also, please let me know if there is a work around.

Thanks.

I don't believe the rermiqeuents are difficult at all for a transfer student, if they are not difficult for a first time high school student (freshman).A family member of mine is graduating this year from high school and plans on applying to Hawaii Pacific (not for nursing) and Chaminade in Hawaii (They have a nursing program as well). The rermiqeuents were not as difficult as we thought when we reviewed the admissions on the website. Check out the website for yourself. Good luck and best wishes.
