For first time h1b stamping, do I need to go to home country?

I got converted from H4 to H1B.I am planning to go to Home country.Do i need to get stamping in my Homecountry only or can i vis it Canada or Mexico also

Before going ahead, explain your situation to Canada counsulate and check with them if they are ok as you are trying to convert from B1/b2 to h1, which is not usually preferred.
if not, then you need to go back to your country and get it stamped.
