My H1b visa is valid until Jan 2015,but my employer who was ready to sponsor my Green card fired me. Is it possible to continue with my H1b visa and look for a new job or is my visa also going to expire?
I am trying to reach my current employer to negotiate since I feel they have fired me by mistake. Can I do that with my current visa and look for another job?

No, your H1b visa status is not valid if you do not have any job. However, if you want to stay in US you should be changing your status to 1/B-2.You can use this time to search for a new job.
