Employer switch during the recent H1 amendment process

Question

Dear H1b Wiki,

I am currently working with Company A with H1B Visa status valid till Feb 2016.

Previously I was in location A and now moved location B before 3 months back with updated LCA. Visa stamping is also done.

Now I've been asked to go for the amendment process and recently it was mentioned the amendment application is extended till Jan 15, 2016.

Here, can I switch to the new employer B and ask him for the H1 transfer process? or Do I need to go for the amendment process first through my Employer A and then
have to switch over to any employer?

Also if amendment process is in progress with my Employer A, can one switch to a new employer?

Please advice.
