Do I need to have my H-1 with A company intact until company B's petition for new H1 gets approved?

I'm on H-1B visa right now with 'A' company. I was offered full time by a 'B' company and they filed my H-1B petition on Friday July the 11th. I'm told that I can join with the 'B' company as soon as USICS receives the application.

I have started with the new company today. I didn't give any notice to my current employer yet.

I would like to know below things,

If I provide 2 weeks notice to my current employer A and if they terminate my H-1B even before I get receipt number for my new petition with company B, will that impact my status in anyway?
Do I need to have my H-1 with A company intact until company B's petition for new H1 gets approved?
