Green Card Update – EB2 Priority Date Pushed Back to Sep 2004

This is not a good news for Green Card Aspirants. Visa Bulletin has been released very recently for October 2012.

Indians have been waiting for this hoping to hear better news on the green card priority dates. But the EB2 priority dates have been pushed from 2007 to way back to 1st September 2004. EB2 is for advanced degree holders, those with master’s degree or PhD’s. The EB3 priority dates have also been pushed back to 15th October 2002. The EB3 priority dates are moving back one or two weeks every month. EB3 is for the skilled workers, those with bachelors or at least two years experience. EB1 category has always been processed for the current dates since years and it’s still the same. EB1 is for the managers or executives, etc.

So over all, EB2 and EB3 have stepped back quite a bit for India. We hope the priority dates would come closer when the next visa bulletin is released for the October month.

The October 2012 visa bulletin is available to view at:  http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5770.html

Keeping this aside, there are high expectations for the November month. This is the month the U.S. presidential elections take place. There have been rumours that the priority dates gets better during this time of the elections. We now have almost 2 more months ahead. So, let us hope for the best things to happen and let’s see what the next visa bulletin have for us.
