14 Indian F1 Students Deported

Fourteen Indian students were interrogated for 14-15 hours by the FBI and then allegedly deported back to India. They came to the US to pursue their study but got detained.

Air India stopped another batch of 19 students, all having student visas, to take the flight going to San Francisco from Hyderabad. All the students were heading to to Silicon Valley University at San Jose and North Western Polytechnic College, Fremont. This action has been taken by Air India to stop these students after they got the communication from US Customs and Border Protection agency, said Air India’s counterpart in US.

It is still unclear why these students are deported.

Most of the deported students are from Hyderabad, Delhi and Chhattisgarh. Bad luck is that their visas have been stamped “revoked” by the US.Every student has been questioned for 14-15 hours and it was quite mortifying. Students were asked to go back to India immediately.

According to the deported students, it is highly shameful as the visas have been stamped “revoked” which will have a drastic impact on the passports in future. In addition, all the hard money and one year is also gone. The US Customs and Border Protection and Immigration advised the airlines to do so.

Air India’s deputy general manager said, “We immediately stopped the students who were about to board the flight to San Francisco, in order to save them from embarrassment and their hard earned money”. It is because, we know that as soon as the students will land there, they will be deported.

After all this, both the universities break their silence on their websites, saying that US government has not blacklisted them. But strict security measures have been imposed by US Customs and border security personnel due to the terrorist attacks in Paris.

  2. Both these universities are dubious. Good move by the government cracking down on them. Deserving candidates who are here on merit will not be affected.
